Our Approach to Pricing

We prefer to charge per song rather than by the hour for the vast majority of our recording projects. Eliminating the constraints of checking the clock produces a more relaxed and creative recording experience for both us and you as an artist.

That being said, we also realize that an hourly rate may be a better fit for some projects. If you feel you can bang out tracks faster than the average bear, we may work out a special hourly rate (often starting at $40/hour). Artists with small or solo projects may also be exceptions to our typical per-song rates and qualify for special hourly pricing.

We will work with you to decide whether per-song or hourly pricing is best for your project.

Recording Rates

Our standard per-song starting rates apply for most typical recording projects. We consider a typical project to be of the rock/punk/metal/hardcore genre and include two guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. Our prices include recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. Pricing may vary depending upon the level of production your project would benefit from, so please contact us directly for a personalized quote.

$600 – Standard rate for the first song (or only one song)
$400 – Standard rate for each additional song after the first

These are our standard rates, but there are situations that may qualify for special pricing. If you are planning to travel a long distance, are recording an involved full-length, or have a special scenario with a record label, please contact us to discuss pricing. We’ll do whatever we can to work with you towards recording a great sounding album.

Mixing/Mastering Only Rates

In addition to full recording/tracking services, we provide mixing and mastering for recordings completed elsewhere. If your project’s assets are prepared in a manner that allows us to immediately begin work, we will typically apply our standard mix/master rates.

$300 – Standard rate for the first song (or only one song)
$150 – Standard rate for each additional song after the first

We can also accommodate projects that require additional services prior to mixing/mastering (such as track organization, file preparation, etc.) at a higher specialized rate. Please contact us directly for a personalized quote.

Payment

Before making any payment to us, you will receive a customized contract that outlines the studio’s services and rules of operation. To secure studio time, a 50% deposit of your project’s total estimated value is required. The remaining balance is due during the project’s scheduled studio time. Once payment is complete and a mix is finalized, master tracks will be provided via private download.
